Good food for healthier skin

Hello everyone

Enhance your natural beauty by making quick and easy changes to your diet. Consider the following food for healthy skin.

Tomatoes:

Key ingredient: Lycopene

Beauty bite:Sun protection

Healthy dose: 1¼ tablespoons tomato sauce or paste daily

What they do:

  • You say "tomato," the science says "sun protection.
  • " Lycopene is a phytochemical that helps prevent sunburn and UV radiation damage, and it’s found in higher concentrations in tomatoes than in almost any other food.
  •  The best sources are the cooked form (tomato paste and sauce); their lycopene content is four times easier for the body to absorb than that of fresh tomatoes.

  • "They’re not meant to replace your sunscreen, but they act as extra insurance for when it wears off or you forget to reapply," says Wu.
  •  "Plus, after you go inside, there’s still damage that’s occurring in your skin cells – and tomatoes help reduce that." University of Manchester researchers discovered that consuming 20 grams (about 1¼ tablespoons) of paste or sauce a day was enough to reduce the risk of sunburn by up to 33 per cent.
Make a little change in your diet and get the healthy skin.
